Demensions of the Great Wall of China

Archeologists believe that the Great Wall of China was built between the seventh and ninth century B.C. The construction began in the Zhou dynasty when the people at war built a defensive wall to ward off enemies from the north. It started off as a regional project until the Qin dynasty joined the separate walls together. The wall is stretched from east to west over 5,000 kilometers long.

The Great Wall of China is the monument of the Chinese history. The construction began in the Zhou dynasty. It started of as only a regional project. His goal was to control the six major states of Zhou, so he built many different walls that went along the north side of China. The walls were about 650 km to 1,500 km long each. The Northern Wei, Northern Qi and the Northern Zhou built the walls.
