I would like to offer some suggestion on how to lose weight and keep it off. I share this with you from my own personal experience. What I had to deal with was not an easy thing. During my final year in high school I came to an understanding that the army would be the best thing for me, so I went and took the test to get in and because of God I pass the test. But now I had to take a physical, so I went to take it and I was told that for my height, 5'8, I had to weigh in at 160-170 pounds to be accepted in the army. At that time I weighed in at 230 pounds and was still going up. I came home disappointed, because that was the only hope for me to get money for college. I had to lose the weight and it was not easy. However, I did it. "How did you do it?" people ask me.
Well the first step was for me to accept that I was overweight and I needed help. If a perso
n is willing to accept something that means that he or she is ready to deal with that problem. Once you have accepted the fact that you are overweight, you are able to move onto the next step, set goals and research.
After you get your gym membership, you have to stick with it, whenever I feel like giving up while exercising , I think of this quote from a movies, "the great thing about pain is that it let you know that you aren't dead yet!" This makes me push through my workout and feel great knowing that I didn't give up! Keep going. Remember that nothing happens over night, and everything has its own time. Don't be disappointed.
