A detailed Summary of Team Meeting


How good it felt to get out of a tiring, hard, swim practice. My heart was still pounding when I got out of the cold, brisk water with a smile on my face. Knowing that I had just completed my first varsity practice, I would have something to brag about to my friends and family. I glanced across the dark pool area as all the tall, muscular girls proceeded to get out of the water. Being only a freshman, it was a great honor for myself to be among these talented teens. As I proudly walked across the slippery deck, our team captain called out for a varsity meeting. I figured I would stroll over there, since I did complete a full practice on varsity and I figured I worked just as hard as the upperclassmen. I walked with great stride towards the captain knowing I was one of only two freshmen practicing with varsity. As I approached the group of girls, my friend Jessica also proceeded to go with me to the huddle of swimmers. We both looked at each other and smiled knowing that we had accomplished an event that would change our next four years of high school. Jessica had a huge smile that covered her face, and her teeth had braces on them, so it made it hard to see her small teeth. She has a short, chubby, young freshman with blonde, alwa


"This weekend we are all going to meet at..." I paused as I glanced towards the back and noticed something unusual. Two, little freshman girls stood their as if they practiced with us. As I stared at one of them to see if I had ever noticed her practicing with varsity before, her blue innocent eyes stared at the floor. Her thin frame shifted back and forth as if she wanted to say something but could not. Her wild hair was pulled back, but a few wild strands hung loose. The girl standing next to her stared back at me with her crystal, blue eyes as her eyebrows made and upward motion. She had a confused, blank look upon her face. I had never noticed these two girls practicing with us before. In my point of view, they did not deserve to attend the party if they did not work as hard as my varsity and me team members. Why would they attempt to get rewarded for not working as hard as the rest of us? I did not think that they deserved to attend this party.

"Varsity, we are going to have a team party," I said as loud as I could, so everyone could hear me. I made sure I glanced at every single one of my team members to see their surprised faces. They all began to smile. It felt remarkable to bring a smile to my fellow friends.

"Umm, you guys are on varsity," she said in a questioning tone.
