Education/Elem vs. sec.

(The difference between Elementary and Secondary)

Deciphering where the responsibility lies-when it comes to education-will not be the same for every person, school, or grade-level (age). As children progress through their schooling-towards secondary education-they certainly acquire a new taste of responsibility. Gradually students will have to begin taking accountability for their actions: whether it be completing homework or getting to class on time despite a trip to their locker. Most importantly the students will no longer have the convenience and comfort of being in one classroom and having only one teacher per day for an entire year.

The purpose of this assignment was to determine if a parent or a teacher is more responsible for student learning. From own my thought, and also through questioning Tim Storch, the teach


This paper never made any mention of parents to this point. However, the fact is that the parents may be the most important part of education. Tim Storch, the teacher I observed this semester, asks a simple question, "How many hours of the day are the kids at home: compared to the amount of time they spend in my class room?" This question shows how important parent involvement actually is.
