Important Problems in Contemporary American Society

There are certainly a number of problems that exist in today's global community or in contemporary American society. Every different country has issues of their own that differ from the problems of other societies. Some countries have command systems which do not let people have free enterprise. Yet others like America have a mixed economic system which allows the people to make their own businesses and trade or sell freely. The United States way of capitalism contributes to our problems of poverty, the separation of the rich and poor , and the scarcity of strong values among people.

Poverty is a serious problem in the United States. Every where you travel across America you will see poverty. What I believe to be extreme


ly sad is that a majority of the "bums" are disabled veterans that fought for our country with such pride. Now they will never even have a chance to receive a decent job with out any real background of education. The United States government can not help them now, especially since most are diagnosed with a serious disease that we would call being an alcoholic or a drug attic. These diseases begin to control ones life and lead them to not want to do any thing with their lives and give up hope. This problem of poverty is not serious in countries such as Cuba, because they have a command system. So everybody works and does their part for society.
