Personal Essay
“Don’t judge a book by its cover.” First impressions can be deceiving and do not always reflect a person’s true personality. Being in drill team was a great experience but it got off to a distressing start. The team’s first impression of me was negatively influenced by a mishap portraying a different personality than I actually possess. A first impression should not always be a last impression.Being in drill team is one of the greatest experiences. Every morning, my team would arrive long before the other students and practice stretching, marching with the band and our dance routines. On the Friday of our first pep rally, I had slept in and was late for practice. I rushed to get my uniform on and ran into the band hall as my instructor yelled at me to get on the field to march.
