Thomas Stearns Eliot, born in Missouri on September 26, 1888, is probably one of the most well known poets of his time. Living in St. Louis during the first eighteen years of his life, Eliot attended Harvard University. In 1910, he left the US for the Sorbonne, having earned both undergraduate and masters degrees and writing several poems to the Harvard Advocate.
