Both Mary Shelly's Frankenstein and Young Frankenstein were both great movies, though, I preferred Mary Shelly's Frankenstein a little bit more. I'm not really into those old comedies. Anyway that is not the point the point is that both movies no matter how different they seemed to be, were derived from the same original horror story written by Mary Shelly. The movies may have small similarities and that is because they both still come from Shelly's original story.

Young Frankenstein is centered around the grandson of Victor Frankenstein who denounced all his grandfather's work until he receives his grandfather's journal and jumps on a train to Translyvania. There he meets his gorgeous blonde assistant and his kooky servant Igore. Once the loony inhabitants of Translyvania discover he is making a monster they become upset, Dr. Frankenstein tries to persuade them with a Broadway style performance. The people were not pleased and they run out the monster. While out and about the monster stumbles across Frankenstein's wife and the monster teaches her to sing some opera. In the end Frankenstein gives some of his brain so the monster can think properly. And with that under control the townspeople leave, The monster gets Frankenstein's wife, Frankenst
