Aticus Love

What is a love story? A love story is a type of story that depicts much love toward someone or some persons. In To Kill a Mockingbird the love affair was Jem and Scout. The story is on the love of a family through the great depression and one of the most racist time periods. Though there are many problems the love and warmth of the Finches family show true and the rightful lessons are learned. The story To Kill a Mockingbird is a about a family named the Finches. It was set during the great depression, so life in the little racist town was hard. The first half of the book is about Scout and Jem growing up. The second half of the book is about Tom Robinson's case and the Finch family being under pressure for defending a black man. In Harper Lees To Kill a Mockingbird the author depicts the love story of a family.

The stories love starts with the father Atticus, who is the only guardian of Jem and Scout. He is a loving and fair father who comes to a mutual agreement with Scout that works that "if you'll concede the necessity of going to school, we'll go on reading every night just as we always have".(31) When Scout is bummed abut the first day of school just because the teacher is mad about her being so advanced the teacher tells S

cout not to read or write with her father anymore. Atticus hears of these unreasonable complaints of the teacher and acts as an accordingly father who bends the rules for Scout. Atticus also shows his love as Scout describes his action as "he turned out the light and went into Jem's room. He would be there all night, and he would be there when Jam waked up in the morning".(281) After Jam broke his arm and was unconscious, he was set on his bed and examined. As Jem rested the loving father waited to be the first to see him in the morning and to make sure everything was all right as he slept. Atticus would do anything for his children and always did what was right. By being the loving and just father of the kids, the kids matured with an open mindset and learn how the majority isn't always right

The other supportive person of the family was Calpurnia. Calpurnia was the positive mother figure of the kids' lives as Calpurnia tells Scout "I missed you today, the house got so lonesome".(29) After the first day of school Calpurnia was at home all day with Scout and Jem unusually not there. Calpurnias' love is seen as she misses the children's company and also before she makes supper, "Calpurnia bent down and kissed"(29) Scout. Calpurnia is really needed in this family
