A detailed Summary of Serpas


While reading Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer I learned of a group of mountain climbers called Sherpas. As I learned in the true story the Sherpas go up and down the mountains quite often with tourist and serious climbers alike but do these heroes or the train really know what they are doing as well as Krakauer thinks? Do they ever have troubles when in a group of just themselves? Do they ever die on the slopes without an inexperienced climber contributing to the accident?

In an effort to find information about Sherpas I went to dogplie.com that gave me many more links than I ever thought possible. From my simple search I decided to only look at sights I considered reliable so I first looked at a PBS sight; if PBS is untrustworthy the world is in really bad sh


ape. From the PBS link I stumbled on to a NOVA online report about Sherpas on Everest. I got s much information off of this one sight I didn't really have to look on another but to appease my curiosity to I decided it was best to get more than one source of information to make sure of its accuracy so I returned to my grand dogpile.com search. Once again I was blessed with a great sight. My new source held much of the same type of information as the NOVA sight. Thinkquest.com is this sight's name. It is a library of many different reliable sources of information and has my recommendation to any student or even teacher looking for anything.
