Personal Narrative
“Fate works in mysterious ways and everything happens for a reason.” For the past two summers previous to this past summer, Michelle had attended orchestra tours that went to both Europe and China. These tours have always been what she looked forward to during the school year and so she decided to attend yet another tour for her upcoming summer. The tour was scheduled to go across Canada and all of her friends had signed up to attend it so Michelle was psyched. The tour turned out to be unsuccessful in gathering many people to sign up because numerous people were still afraid to travel after September 11th. The director of the tour tried to keep congregating people to enroll for the summer tour, but he was not capable of getting enough people, and unavoidably, the tour was canceled. Michelle was utterly disappointed and immediately gave up and figured that her summer was ruined. She figured she would just stay home and sulk in her misery until the summer came to an end. “Everything happens for a reason”, Michele’s mom told her. “There was a reason why you weren’t supposed to go on this tour”, she assured her daughter.
