A detailed Summary of Forgiveness


Jesus Christ came to save and love the lost. Everyday people make mistakes, both mistakes they regret and mistakes that they don't give a second thought to. Fortunately, Jesus came to pick us up. When we feel down, he then dusts us off and puts us back on our feet. He offers us love and forgiveness with no conditions. Christians like myself have been intrigued by a recent made bumper sticker that reads, " I'm not perfect, just forgiven."

According to the New Message Bible, There once was a woman who was caught in the act of adultery. Adultery in those days was dealt with in a specific way, which was being stoned to death. In the act of committing adultery, she was drug to the village center, to be displayed naked before the whole town. They made degrading comments and threw things at her while screaming vulgar things in her face. At this time Jesus was envied by many and he was staying in the town. When he heard the news he came quickly t


o the town center. Jesus made his way through the raging crowd. As he got closer the noise of the crowd diminished. When he made it to the center, there before his eyes was the naked woman laying in the dirt petrified and humiliated. Jesus picked up a stick and began to write something in the dirt. The villagers were infatuated with what he was doing. That was Jesus' purpose to draw the attention to himself, and away from the woman. The crowd eagerly waited for a verbal response. For whatever he had to say they were very interested in. Jesus then said. " For if anyone of you is without sin, throw a stone at this woman." One by one heads dropped as they turned and walked away.

Soon after, the woman was left alone with Jesus. He looked to her and said, "Go and be free, I forgive you , live not in sin."

Some may disagree with this bumper sticker. Non-believers or people who just feel that Gods forgiveness is too often taken for granted. This topic is
