In today's world, teenagers have many decisions to make and difficult tasks to perform. Teenagers also have quite an active and hectic social life, while society pushes them to move forward and strive for the best. In a teens life these issues present day to day conflicts. Holding a job, going to college and keeping an active social life can be a daunting task. Often, it seems, I have found myself in a situation where I need to be in two places at one time. In today's world a college education is no longer looked at as an option, but as a necessity. How do young adults get things done in their busy lives? How will I be able to manage my time between work, school and pleasure? The answer is time management.
Determining priorities is the key to time management. Getting a good education is the key to my future, therefore is it my top priority. Since school, based on class availability, is a scheduled event, all other activities will need to be scheduled around it. An excessive work schedule can result in my schoolwork and
On that note, I am brought to my final concern. This is quite obviously the lowest in priorities, but as a teenager this is put way on the top of my "want to do" list. I feel at times that I am playing devils advocate with myself. On one shoulder I have a nice angel telling me to do get good grades and get a well paying job, while on the other shoulder a hellish demon is screaming things such as, "go out every night and forget your work". I know that I have to make a fair compromise. How much time can I afford to spend with my friends? At this age I can honestly say the answer is, not too much. Studying for tests and writing papers takes quite a chunk out of the day. On a good note, however, I understand that it is in my best interest to curb "time for fun" and use more time towards my education.
