A Night To Remember
Never again, never again, were the thoughts that raced through my mind as my head buried itself into the toilet bowl. My body seemed to be regurgitating everything it had consumed within the last year. After a few minutes I seemed a bit recovered and tried to raise my frail body off of the floor, but as soon my legs half straightened themselves out, I jerked back into puking position. It was at that very moment I vowed never to drink to such an extent ever again. One night of excessive drunkenness can make you never want to drink again. It was a warm autumn weekend when I came home from school. My boyfriend, Adam, who is in a band, was playing at a 40th birthday in a bar Saturday night, which meant free drinks. I hadn't really ate anything the whole day and I knew I'd be drinking so we stopped off at Starbucks for so some coffee and snacks, just so I'd have something in my stomach. I sipped my coffee and nibbled on carrot cake as the band set up. I was still hungry when the carrot cake was done so Chris, a friend of the band, and I went for some pizza. Around three hours later, it was almost over and the band was on their second to last song. I was tired and sitting down when a smelly, old drunk pulled me up to dance. I hesitated but he insisted and I felt bad. I kept at a distance, even though his odor was still overpowering. I knew it had to end though, when he pulled me extremely close. I grew very uncomfortable and backed away quickly, ignoring his shouts. I sat down; relieved the little romance was over. The bartender came over to me and said, "Looks like you could use a drink. Anyone would after having to put up with that". I agreed and chugged down the shots she handed me. Adam and his parents picked me up later in the day to go back to school. I couldn't look him in the eye, He asked me why I was acting strange and I explained to him how ashamed I was. He hug
