Negative Aspects of Chat Communication
If I cited some lines from any chat room conversation, it would look like an extract from an absurd play of some new modern writer. But actually, participants of such conversations are not only real, but also mostly normal people. Thus, chat is an online communication with different people in real time. To log in to any chat room a person should have a nickname (screen name, or “nick”) and a password. Some chats require additional registration information, for others having a screen name is enough. Then the procedure is very simple: pick up a name or names you want to address to and type your messages. Though it is very interesting and exciting to meet different people via chat rooms, people should realize the possible negative aspects, and even danger, of such communication. It can be false identity, misunderstanding, addiction, etc. The main drawback of chat communication is that people cannot see each other and don’t actually know each other. Due to chat anonymity, a lot of chat participants play with their identity.
