The numbers of high school dropouts are growing each year. Some of the main causes of children dropping out of high school are from the lack of parental guidance, falling into the wrong crowd, and difficult life circumstances. Without a high school education, finding a job is more difficult and the job will not pay as much without a degree. As the economy changes and as the competition increases, finding a meaningful job becomes more challenging. Not having a high school degree almost always negates a person from ever having a "good" job. Of course, there are those rare cases of "making it" in life without a high school degree. However, the effects of not getting your high school diploma could affect the rest of your life.

Families seem to come second these days. Parents are so absorbed in their work and struggling to keep their "head above water", that often times their children get lef


Difficult life circumstances are another cause of students dropping out of high school. Children feel as though they need to drop out to make money at an early age to help with the family's financial difficulties. However, parents overlook the importance of an education and put their worries on their children. Unfortunately, the children repeat the cycle of their uneducated parents and do not understand the importance that the education will give them. The cycle will never change and the difficult circumstances continue from generation to generation. Not having a high school diploma will definitely affect their financial stability and earning power.
