Throughout my life I have met many people. Some of them have left a very good impression on me, but some others haven't. Nonetheless, could you have a very clear image of a person you have just met? This is certainly not an easy question; this is the case when first impressions may be deceptive.
It all started about two years ago. I remember that horrible month of August; a sunny day when people were sweating like crazy. It was the first day of the semester back in Mexico so everybody was dressing very tacky. Guys were wearing elegant pants and colorful ties and the girls were wearing suits; I could smell the sweet fragrances of their perfumes coming out of their clothes.
As I said before it was a hot day, and since they gym is always as cold as fridge I decided to hustle over there in order to cool down. Once I got there I saw three of my friends: Abner, Fernando and Josue. Abner, a thin guy, was wearing black pants and a white shirt. Jose and Fernando, both big guys, were wearing black pants and white shirts. All of them were working out like animals, feeling the blood flowing inside their muscles. Incredibly, the next week everything was different. He started talking nicely and all of the time he was trying to help everybody. One day he came to us and suddenly said he was very sorry about the way he had treated us. His face turned red and his voice was as weak as a buzzing. We were shocked and speechless but after a short while we realized that the instructor was having personal problems so we accepted the apology.
Next thing I know I started walking towards him to find out who he was. He was wearing baggy blue pants and a tight white shirt. After I walked all the way to the end of the gym I finally got to be in front of him. When he saw me standing in front of him he gave me a strange look; his eyes were shining like silver and the nasty smell of sweat was all over him. I gently asked him who he was and he told me with a strong voice that he was the new instructor of the gym.
As a conclusion, first impressions may be deceptive. Most of the times we make assumptions of people we barely now. We must learn to be patient with people we do not like in order to have a better relationship. I have learned that I can't judge a person I have just met. It can take weeks, mon
