About two years ago, my mother and I went for a day of shopping at Pebbles. It seemed like a regular day, but I was fooled. I did my usual thing. I left my mom and went shopping on my own. As I walked around the store, I felt eyes watching me. I didn't pay attention to it though. I found a couple of pairs of jeans and a shirt that I liked. I gathered them up and headed to the dressing room.
As I was walking to the dressing room, I saw some sunglasses I liked. I decided to pick them up and try them on with my newly found outfits. I made my way to the dressing room and tried my clothes on. After I tried them on, I grabbed the clothes and headed out. I hung the clothes up and walked off to find my mom. As I was walking to find my mother, a person tapped me on my shoulders. I turned around slowly and noticed this six foot eight monster.
My stomach dropped and I began to tremble. She said in a deep voice "Excuse Me, Where are those glasses?" I didn't reply to her because I was still in shock. She said again "Excuse Me, Where are those glasses?" I said softly "On the rack I guess". No the ones you had she replied. I looked at her and said, " I don't know, I guess they are still in the dressing room".
This little incident has changed my life dearly. I learned two major things out of this experience. The first is how people can be stereotypical. How did that lady know if I had stolen those glasses? If that were the case, you would have to watch everybody that touches and item in the store. The second I learned is that people let the world make their decisions for them.
