"What we value is what we are, and what we protect." Almost a year ago today we were going on with our daily lives until terrorists attempted to take away everything America stands for. Trying to steal the very things that wars were fought over and people have died for, they did not succeed. Some of these values are success, peace, and freedom. Many Americans are fighting right this very second to protect these values. I thoroughly believe that without these values America wouldn't be the country that we know and love today. These values are necessary to have the lives we have today.
The first value that I cherish is success. In Europe during the 1700's there was no way for someone to get out of the status that they were born in. If your father was a farmer then you are destined to be a farmer. There was no way to go any where in life. For women there was no where to go at all, they had to be obedient to
The last and I believe most important American value that we have and I believe in is freedom. Before the Revolutionary War, America was not free. The British were in control and many Americans died to make us free. I believe that many people take their freedom for granted. Without freedom there is no success along with many of the other American values that we hold dear to us. Freedom is the thing that allows you to drive a car, go to school, and get married to whom you choose. It is the thing that makes America what it is today. This is my most loved value that all Americans share.
The next American value that I believe in is peace. In America we have laws to protect us and others. They are put there to make sure that everything doesn't go to chaos, when someone breaks these rules they put everyone in danger. Peace not only means no fighting it also means that everything is fair. I hope that one day the whole world will
