Schindlers List

Schindlers List is a movie that takes place during WWII. The movie begins in Krakow, Poland just after the collapse of the Polish army, and at the beginning of the German occupation. Oskar Schindler, a tall handsome womanizer arrives in the city looking to open a factory in order to gain profits from the war. At the time, Jewish people were no longer permitted to own a business, and were removed from their homes. Jews were sent to ghettos to live and forced labor camps in Plaszow , and then resettled in concentration camps for execution. Oskar obtains a factory that produces pots and pans from a Jewish man named Itzhak Stern, and makes Stern his accountant and manager. The two men form a strange relationship, with Oskar taking advantage of Sterns talent, and Stern distrustingly but obediently following Schindler orders. Schindler goes to the Jewish ghetto to get the rich Jewish people to invest into his factory, and to get the poor Jews to work for him, since they can provide him with cheap labor. By way of the black market, Schindler obtains numerous delicacies such as liquor and chocolate for the SS and German officers and sends them gift baskets to get on their good side. Schindler spent his days entertaining the Nazis

Schindler List very is kept very close to the exact historical events that took place. Throughout the movie, Schindler is portrayed as the hero he was. The events are kept exact, and the history is factual. The way in which Jews were treated during World War II in Europe was depicted very exact.

In 1939, Schindler began to save the Jewish people when Germany invaded Krakow, Poland. While in Krakow, Schindler took ran two companies that dealt with the manufacturing of kitchen products. These business's were formally owned by Jew's, but because of the new laws prohibiting Jews from owning their own business, Schindler took them over. In one of the two business's, Schindler was only a trustee, so he decided to open up his own factory, where he employed many Jewish people. Employing Jewish people during this time saved them from being brought to labor camps.

Schindlers List is a dramatic recreation of that dark frightening period during World War II...The horror is alleviated, slightley by Janusz Kaminski's stunning black and white cineatography..the lack of color ruminds us of German Expressionist films and allows Spielberg to explicit without becoming tastelessly graphic.."

During the movie, when Schindler creates his list to save the Jewish workers that were being sent to death, "Kingsley delivers history's judgement of Schindler in a moving scene: "He who saves one life, saves the world entire". It is a touching moment in a film full of intensely touching moments. By this time, the audience has been purely devastated in immense heartache: there is no more that can be done to further impact a viewer."

After Brunnlitz, Schindler heard that a train of evacuated jews from the Golezow camp were left in the city of Svitavy, which was close to where he was. Once again, Schindler used his persuasive ways to get permission to take is workers to the station to rescue the Jews. They found 100 nearly frozen people. Those who perished were given the proper burial, payed for by Schindler.

When Schindler met with Stern, he would tell him stories of how the Jews were being treated. Initially, Schindler took these stories as nothing, however as time went on, Schindler began to feel increasingly more impacted about how the Jews were being treated. He would them make minute moves that showed Schindler as a callous man, who is compassionate and caring. Schindler's factory became a safe haven for the Jews among all of the outside chaos. The word quicky spread that in the factory, no Jews died. Schindler was unaware of this fact until on day, a young Jewish woman disguised herself, and asked Schindler to hire her parents who were in a labor camp. He was appalled by this request and fearful of what could happen t
