What would life be like without carpe diem? The world would be a boring and bitter place. Had Noah defied God and not built the ark, I wonder where I would be right now? I would not be sitting here today if my ancestors had not decided to take a huge challenge and risk their lives to come halfway around the world, just for a tiny chance at a better life. Would I be in Europe right now, if Leif Erikson had not satisfied his inner conscience, proving his courage to himself and to the rest of the known world? I do not know where I would be right now if my grandmother had not decided to take a chance and go on a blind date with a guy she didn't even know; didn't even have a clue as to who he was or where he was from. Today, he is my grandfather.
