They were upset mostly because of the decrease in pay, and also because of the fact that they were making barely above minimum wage to begin with. Moore was treated the same in almost every company he visited. He was automatically requested to leave, or asked to put away the camera. In the Pillsbury factory, Moore was told he could only ask one question, and it had to be written on a yellow sticky note and the he would then be asked to leave. Even speaking to a human resource director was no help. The human resource director was just as rude to Moore as the others were. This confused Moore as a human resource director usually knows how to deal with people since it is their job.
