This is what causes us to become much in debt, there is no contribution from the people. With this debt how are we to pay for the armies to protect our land, we are easily vulnerable. Not only are we not able to pay for our soldiers, but we cannot also pay debts due to different foreign nations. The Articles of confederation thus weakens our financial system causing great despair in economic controversies. Without a strong national government I fear anarchy will spread over our states.
