Comparing how different media sources cover found artifact

The public is constantly receiving new information about what is going on in the world around them. This is referred to as current events, or news. News can be reported through many different mass mediums. For example we have: television, newspapers, radio, and internet. Through these types of media, the same issues are covered in different ways. The most obvious battle for the public’s attention is between newspapers and T.V.

A topic that caught my eye, was the discovery and translation of an ancient Hebrew ossuary. An ossuary is a limestone burial box for bones. This type of burial was used by the Jews between 20 B.C. and A.D.70. Like that of a modern-day headstone, there was an inscription in the Aramaic language, "James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus". Andre Lemaire, who translated this, said that it is "very probable" the writing refers to Jesus of Nazareth. He dates the ossuary to A.D. 63, just three decades after the crucifixion. Lemaire is a specialist in ancient inscriptions.

This box, which is 20 inches long by 11 inches wide, is said to be the oldest archaeological record of Jesus. Lemaire said that out of hundreds of such boxes found with Aramaic writing, only two contain mentions of a brother. From this, schola
