The story of Julius Caesar, written by Shakespeare, is characterized as a tragedy. One characteristic of a tragedy is that is always has a tragic hero. This is someone who is a moral and honest person, who is respected by others. But, through ill judgment and decision making, they become the root of their own demise. In this tragedy, there are two possible tragic heroes, Caesar and Brutus. If you know the story well, you know that Brutus kills Caesar for the good of Rome, supposedly.
