Chocolate War
The world was made up of two kinds of people- those who were victims and those who victimized. There was no doubt about Janza’s category. No doubt about himself, The above comment was stated by Archie, a senior at Trinity, with a big ego in charge of conjuring up assignments to be issued out to students for a group called the Vigils. Archie also refers to another person, Emile Janza. Emile is a bully who picks on most everyone at the school. These characters along with Brother Leon, the substitute head master in charge of a chocolate sale at the school Archie and Emile attend, all abuse their power throughout the novel. One common goal of theirs, which creates the storyline, is to enforce success with the fundraiser. However, Jerry, a fellow student of Archie and Emile, decides to “disrupt the universe”, in this case the school, and it’s chocolate sale. With Jerry’s non conformance to a higher power, influence and unfair force become prevalent among the those who “Victimize”, such as Emile Archie and Brother Leon, while the wrath of such actions are felt by the “Victim”, in this case Jerry.
