Are We Alone?
A detailed Summary of Are We Alone?
Day after day, we wake up and find ourselves surrounded by life. Most of us encounter life in the human form; when we go to school, to work or to the supermarket. Other times we run into different forms of life, that do not take the human form, and that do not live in the same environment humans live in. For example, aquatic life forms exist and evolve in our oceans and seas. What we know life ranges from large complex life forms such as elephants, to small single celled organisms that can only be seen with a microscope, life that is present and exists on earth, but the question that we must ask ourselves: does life exists somewhere else in the universe? In my opinion, other life forms do exist, but our goal is to learn how to look for them.
Before looking at other planets, we should begin looking for new life here on earth. Venturing in space is still a long time away and in the meanwhile we should search for life here on earth. There are numerous places and habitats that have not yet been explored on earth. For instance, there was a recent discovery of a life form living deep inside caves hidden from light and heat. How is it possible that we convince ourselves "there is no life on other planets" when we do not know that life

exists under our feet and it is waiting to be discovered?
There are many theories trying to explain how life began on Earth. One of them tells us that a meteorite carrying bacteria landed on earth, and life evolved from that bacterium into what we know today as life on earth. If this theory is true, then where did that bacteria come from? Meteors are usually large masses that detach from planets once there is a massive explosion, or when the planet is hit by other meteorites. This gives the possibility of another planet with life. There is also the possibility that fragments from the planet containing bacteria, landed on other planets were life also spawned like it did on Earth.
The sad truth is that we have not come in contact with any alien life form yet. There has been no contact or message received from any distant civilization. Our technology limits us from exploring the far corners of our galaxy and ultimately of the universe. These unfortunate circumstances have given numerous people the impression that we are alone, and that continuing to search for alien life forms is pointless. It is crucial we do not give up our hopes, and that we continue searching since life does exist on other planets. We once thought that Earth represented the center of the universe. Imagine what we will discover next.
We know the basic elements on earth that work together to give birth to life, but do we know the elements that might exist on other planets or different environments? In other words are we able to recognize alien life once we encounter it? Are we willing to accept life that is different then the one on earth?
But we may not need to look that far to find life on other planets. It is
