Most American High School students go their prom either their junior of senior year. They go for many reasons, either to get out of the house for one night, go hang out with their friends, or go eat a scrumptious dinner they can only afford once a year. Prom should be a pleasant experience, but for many reasons to many people it isn't and to others it is. Prom may be fun, but there are many disadvantages and also things that could go wrong that very special night. Some people say that prom should be banned; there are many reasons for this saying. In general, during prom many bad incidents happen like prom is way too expensive or alcohol intoxication becomes a major factor. In most cases, prom is a very bad experience and time. In order to understand why prom should be banned, you really have to look at it in a whole different perspective.

First of all, proms should be banned because there are many students that just can't afford it. For many people, prom is too expensive. This ye

While everyone else is out having fun on their prom night, well the people who can afford it, there are people that are forced to say home because they didn't have the money. If not for the ticket being expensive, boys still have to pay for their tux rental or pay for their date's dinner. Including a limousine, by the end of the night prom should be well over $500.00 for the average boy. Girls usually got it easy. If they are going to have prom, they should at least have a program in which students that cannot afford to go, have a way to go. They should be able to help the boys with their tuxedo rental, ticket cost including the date, and also a gift certificate to a fine restaurant. And for the girls they should provide a dress rental if they cannot afford to buy a dress. This would be one step in making prom a better experience.
