Freedom

According to the American Heritage Dictionary, freedom is defined as the condition of being free of restraints; liberty of the person from slavery, detention, or oppression; political independence; exemption from the arbitrary exercise of authority in the performance of a specific action; exemption from an unpleasant or onerous condition; the capacity to exercise choice; free will; ease or facility of movement; frankness or boldness; lack of modesty or reserve; the right to unrestricted use; the right of enjoying all of the privileges of membership or citizenship; a right or the power to engage in certain actions without control or interference. One week had gone by, and I finally found the time to call my parents. I couldn't remember what I had feared at first because it was great being away from home. I didn't realize that I didn't need my parents' constant reminders and support. I had finally grew up, able to face the world and all of its aspects, all by myself.

It hadn't dawned on me that I wasn't the only one who had those initial thoughts and fears because everyone around me had those feeling's too. This made the atmosphere easier because everyone was open, friendly, and responsive to one another. Meeting new people made me become acquainted to their way of life from their home. It was weird seeing the different ways to do something, say something, etc. Most im
