A detailed Summary of Beowulf


A hero is one who is greatly regarded for achievements or qualities. The

hero of the Anglo-Saxon epic poem Beowulf shows the traits of a dedicated and proud

warrior which is characterized predominantly by his act of strength and courage in his life.

Beowulf's life was split into two phases, his youth age and his old age, also carrying with

him three major conflicts that would change his personality and lifestyle over the years

because of his heroic and courageous efforts. The battle with Grendel marked his youth age

and showed his predominance over other warriors. Grendel's mother was at his middle

aged time and the dragon, which was the last conflict showed how powerful he was over all
