Book Review: Band of Brothers
Stephen E. Ambrose was born in 1936. He grew up in Whitewater, Wisconsin. Ambrose has two brothers named Harry and Bill. Harry is two years older and Bill is two years younger. Ambrose’s father was a navy doctor in the Pacific. His mother worked in a Pea Cannery. Ambrose has a wife named Moira Buckley Ambrose. They both have five kids. Ambrose went to the University of Wisconsin. He started as a premed but then switched to American History. Through the years of 1960 – 1995 he was a full-time professor at the University of New Orleans, Rutgers, Kansas State, Naval War College, and U.C. Berkeley. Ambrose wrote a book on the biography of Eisenhower because Eisenhower asked him to become his biographer. After all his wonderful work as a professor and writer, Ambrose retired on May of 1995. I do think Ambrose was qualified to write this book. He was around when the war occurred and he majored in American History. The book is about the horrifying history of Easy Company.
