By dressing more professionally students are inclined to act more maturely and more responsibly (Eppinger 3). When students are made to dress in uniforms there is not a distraction from revealing clothing that often appears in the hallways of many public schools.

Wearing a uniform also affects students' perception of the school's climate. Students feel they are part of a team by wearing a uniform. Clothes divide students into competing cliques, which destroys school spirit. Uniforms enhance school spirit because a feeling of togetherness is created.
