The Sony PlayStation 2 and the Xbox have been competing for a good while now. Some people prefer the Xbox and some people believe the PlayStation2 is better, because the PlayStation2?s is the leading game console on the market. This concludes that the PlayStation 2 is in the leading game console being sold and the Xbox is far behind not only in numbers, but also in performance.

According to Steven Kent from ?Game Console Wars Continue To Rage? USA Today, the PlayStation2 is one of the best game systems on the market today (2). It has about 150 + games to choose from for all different levels and age groups. The Xbox only came up with 40 games to choose from. Kent later describes how the Microsoft Xbox didn?t have many game consoles available and the price was more as well, on the other hand Sony PlayStation 2 sold well over 2.8 billion copies in December 2000 (2). Sony sold so many PlayStation2?s they had to give people rain checks until Sony could produce enough to satisfy the customers demand. This shows that PlayStation2 is plentiful and it has a large library of games to choose from. Where as the Xbox is not plentiful and it has a limited number of games to choose from.


Steve Belanger, Battling Boxes, Popular Science, stated that Microsoft has invested Billions in the X-Box to establish a foothold into the gaming industry (1). This substantial investment is seen as a long-term effort to challenge Sony's PlayStation 2 dominance of the gaming industry and as a move into digital entertainment (putting a Microsoft product into consumers' living rooms). Both the X-box and PS2 are where the future of video games and interactive entertainment are headed. They are small computers are DVD players and allow access to the Internet through your television. But the Xbox may lack features and ease of use; therefore, it might frustrate the casual or novice user.

Color-crisp, the edges-sharp, the amazing detail quite frankly blows the Xbox away. With so many titles to choose from, it will be easy for one to find a game they like.
