"Turn that music off! I don't want you listening to that kind of music." Many teens these days are experiencing this kind of thing almost every day. Do explicit rap lyrics affect the youth? Many parents, in general, have complained and tried to regulate the music that teens are listening to these days saying that explicit rap lyrics affect their youth in a negative way. They complain that the music industry shouldn't be able to sell and produce the explicit CD's. Rap music does not effect minors in a negative way because rap artists artists are simple stating their life stories and telling the youth not to do as they did.

NEw.The music industry gets a lot of criticism about the music that they put out on the market. Most of the criticism comes from over concerned parents. There are bills passed, such as the "Parental Advisory Program," which enforce that CD's with explicit lyrics have to have a label on them that state, "Explicit Lyrics" or "Explicit Content." This sticker cautions the person who buys the CD that there is vulgar language or content. The recording industry takes serious responsibility to help parents identify the music with explicit lyrics. Parents need to stop blaming the music and start taking responsibilt


New.Most rappers are trying to send a positve message to their audience. They are telling their listeners not to do as they did. All the violence and drugs which they experienced in their life is not the right thing to do. Rappers are a vioce and a sign of hope to many black and hispanic minorities. Rappers are an example to the poor youth that there is a way out of the ghetto without having to sell drugs or doing anything illegal. In a song called "Mama" Big Pun tells people,"terror squad is here to help ,learn from our mistakes"so that they won't make the same mistakes as he mad.In a song called "Sky's the Limit" Biggie tells people that "sky is the limit and you know that you can have what you want, be what you want." This is an inspiration to people all over the world letting them know that they can be whatever or whoever they want to be.
