A detailed Summary of College Life to Experience

When I first came to Vanier College in late August, I never thought that there was so much to be proud of Vanier. Only when I introduced my college to my cousin, who came frhat I've found myself very pound of Vanier. Vanier college stands on the peak because it offers a variety of good services, allows us to meet people from everywhere around the world and gives us more freedom.

First of all, I am proud about Vanier because it offers a great number of good services for students. All the Vanier students have access to all the services provided by the college without any exceptions. For example, more than 800 computers are available around the college, where students can do their projects, assignments if they haven't got a computer at home. It also happened that I had to use them to do three of my Chemistry labs, when my home computer broke down. All the computers are updated and they also offer internet services for surfers. In addition, my college has the biggest library compared to the library that my cousin has in India, where only about 1000 books are available. The library at Vanier has 3 floors. On each floor there is about 5000 books can be found. We can find books of all kind such as references books, novels, magazines, e

Finally, our college gives us more freedom than the college of my cousin. Everything is made according to our taste; no one is there to force us. For example, when I choose my Physics course , no one interfered in my choice, I choose Mrs. Miriam Cooper and the time that matched her schedule . Not only for my physics, I had the chance to choose all the teachers and the time I preferred for this semester, which my cousin would have never have a chance to do. Since she started college, all her timetables were done by the responsible of the program and never had they asked her opinion. Furthermore, we are treated like real adults. All our school decisions are made by us and not our parents or friends. No one in the college will run after me to collect an assignment or to see if I am cutting my classes or not. We are even allowed in some classes to leave the class. This shows that they trust us and they know that we are mature enough to know what we must do and what not to do. But in India, it does not work in the same way. No one is allowed to leave the class, unless there is a major reason or an emergency. In addition, we are free to express our feeling and thinking no matter about whom it is or about what is it. For instance, one of my good friends, Tina, didn't appreciate the way her teacher controlled the class, and taught the course. Even after talking to the teacher, nothing changed so she went a bit further and revealed her problem to the student faculty mediation committee, a committee who listens to the students problems and help solving them.
