Pansy was a perfectly molded little lady. Her father wanted to make sure that she would follow his wishes without any reasoning. She spent her educational years in a convent. At the point when she was introduced to us she didn't know life at all. She knew about life only what her father told her. He was her teacher and her mentor. She never believed that he can be wrong or had any thoughts of questioning his truth. When she was in public she didn't know how to present herself like a perfect lady. When Rosier founds that Osmond will not let Pansy to married him because he is not rich enough, he talks to Madam Merle. In their conversation he enlisted Madam Merle help to convince Osmond to allow Pansy marry him. In the conversation between Madam Merle and Osmond, they discussed Pansy as if she was a thing for sale. They conversed about her future not really taking into consideration Pansy's feelings and desires. Osmond's only worry was how much money he can get for her.
