A detailed Summary of From Tranquility to Turmoil


Just like millions of others in the world today, the character in this story chooses to

take his normal, seemingly tranquil life, and turn it upside down. He has a good wife

who loves him dearly, a good home, and his dearest friend, a black cat named Pluto. We

know he has to be making a fairly descant living because he has a servant, and he has the

means to go out drinking every night. So what is making him throw away his life in such

a horrific manner? The same thing that causes people to loose every thing, including their

sense-of-being, and even their sanity.....Alcohol. The story doesn't tell us why the

character started drinking, that's any ones guess. We really don't know very much at all

about the person accept the fact that he went insane.

Just like most Alcoholics, this character suf


refuses to accept any responsibility for his actions. It is easier for him to believe that a cat is out to get him than it is for him to face the fact that he is an alcoholic.
