Setting A Requirement On Standardized Testing
If I were to refer back to my high school life, the first idea that came into mind would be the standardized tests that seemed never-ending. I was actually fortunate enough not having to take an exam in order to graduate from high school, but all of the freshmen in high school this year will need to. Even though I escaped the exit-exam, I still couldn・t avoid some of the standardized tests during high school. Relying on statewide-standardized tests to determine the eligibility of a student to graduate is a reasonable solution. Of course no students like them, and there are advantages and disadvantages also, but it is the only ideal way. To start with my own opinion about the standardized tests, I would say that it is unfair, but necessary. Its original use was to use random test questions to find out a student・s true ability and knowledge. Some managed to do well, the good test takers, while others failed because they usually don・t do well on tests. This is where some things may seem unfair to different people.
