Basketball has become a very popular sport amongst all types of people ranging from high school athletes to the older generation, and for most, it all began on the neighborhood playground. College basketball players play for a school and try to make a name for themselves, where professionals play because its their job. College basketball has a much different meaning than professional basketball. College players are trying to make a name for themselves and get somewhere in life weather it may be in the NBA or have a well paying job. College students also have very little personal time for themselves with weekday games, a long schedule that ranges between two semesters, constant travel, and classes. College basketball games are consisted of two twenty-minute halves. Each team is awarded three time-outs per half and overtime is five minutes, with 2 time-outs awarded.
