Hamlet

In his first soliloquy Hamlet reveals the depth of his depression and the specific reasons for the melancholy. Hamlet feels like he is too much alive to live a normal life. It was believed that the sins of one's parents would pass on to their child and Hamlet cannot bear the burden of the sins that his mother performed. Hence he wishes that if God had not made suicide a sin then he could take his own life and be free of a world who's happiness, usefulness, truthfulness have been sucked out of it. Hamlet feels as if he is living in "hell" as he believes his world has turned into a stale, flat, unprofitable and useless world. He thinks of his world as an unweeded garden where all the goodness is sucked out by the weeds (Claudius etc) and only misery, greed, evil are left behind (a foul and gross garden). This newborn evil is taking over "his once perfect world". Not even


two months, Denmark had an excellent king who was like Hyperion, Greek god of truth or sun, if compared to the satyr, a spirit with manlike form and goat like ears and tail, like king who is presently wearing the crown of Denmark. Hamlet's father was a brave, fair man while Claudius is a greedy, cunning, power hungry "goat". Old Hamlet loved his wife so much that he would not even let the wind hit her face in case she might get hurt or her beautiful face might get rough or damaged. The intensity and volume of their love would increase with every minute they spend together. But even before one month had passed after her loving husband died, she got married to that "goat".
