Human Reproductive Cloning

Human Reproductive Cloning raises many issues in Medical Ethics. Although researchers feel that human cloning can be very helpful and interesting in the medical field, at the same time there are too many drawbacks involved to even attempt creating a clone/copy of another human life.

Through research on animals it had shown that most attempts have failed. They either end up in death and abnormal fetus deformities. Research has also shown that cloning consisted of many problems and is dangerous for the carrier.

Moral concerns present in the articles again discuss the dangers to the mother and fetus entailing this procedure. There is very little chance of a successful clone. They die before the procedure is complete or hopelessly cling to life days after birth. These fetuses can be deformed and are most likely abnormal. The carrier also faces health risks from cloning related complications. Death can occur and other risks should be taken into consideration.

Another way of looking at the moral points is religiously. God created man, man did not create man. Reproduction is the natural way to produce another human being, as opposed to being created in a lab. In order to go through with hu

man cloning, you need eggs from a female. This means that women must donate their eggs, which involves painful surgery. People of the Catholic Church look at this as wrong. There are women in the world who cannot conceive children and in some people's eyes it is wrong to throw away the chance (the egg) to create life naturally.

As of now there is a ban on human cloning, but it may be overlooked or reconsidered depending on future research. People often argue the fact that if a person is willing and gives their consent there should be no reason why the research should be stopped. Knowing the consequences and possible aftereffects of the cloning process, there should be no argument if it was their choice and they were willing to lay their lives on the line. But people do not realize what they are dealing with. Just because it has been done on animals such as: sheep, cattle, pigs, goats and mice, does not mean that it is safe for human beings.

Also I believe that another problem, as far fetched as this may sound, is if cloning technology is put in the hands of a wrongful person. For example, who's to say that someone wouldn't use this procedure against humanity, in general? Why run the risks of bringing back to life problems that have be
