Appalling Driving Habits.
A detailed Summary of Appalling Driving Habits.
To show how driving is dangerous.
Twenty first century automobile drivers are so preoccupied with multitasking that we all take our life in our hands each time we shift into drive.
C. Ignoring meaning of traffic signs
I am astonished at the ways that driving has changed since I first got behind the wheel of a car, with a driver's education instructor seated bravely by my side.
I've noticed that for many people in today's society, operating a motor vehicle offers them the ideal opportunity for concurrently performing a variety of unrelated tasks. As a result, its now not uncommon and apparently perfectly acceptable, to drive down the highway while simultaneously engaging in other activities. We have all seen some of the following: reading, working a crossword puzzle, cleaning out the ashtray

I see drivers everyday that apparently believe that it is far more critical to engage in a cell phone conversation or checking the stock quotes on their laptop, than to ensure that safety measures are being employed to the maximum.
Over the years, in an effort to reduce congestion and to increase the smooth flow of traffic, many states have passed laws that allow motorists to make right hand turns on red lights at certain intersections; assuming of course that proper safety precautions are followed. Unfortunately, these laws are construed by many vehicle operators as unquestionable, God-given entitlements that are just as sacred as an individual's inalienable claim to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Additionally, these regulations were obviously not enacted with the welfare of pedestrians in mind. I admit that many drivers, prior to making that revered right turn on red, are rather meticulous about carefully looking to the left to ensure that the path is relatively clear of approaching vehicles. I notice, however, that these same motorists often don't bother to look to the right before pulling out into the intersection, even though there's a possibility that someone may be attempting to cross the street using the specially marked paths.
The meaning of basic traffic symbols also seems to have been revised arbitrarily over the years. Red, octagonal signs no longer indicate stop, but rather roll as in slow down (briefly) and roll through the interse
