Tournament of Tonk
Object: To be one of the last 3 players remaining in the tourneyRules: All rules of tonk will be applied in this tourney. Each player is dealt five cards with one card faced up in the discard pile. A player can either pick up the top card from the pile, pick up a faced down card in the deck, or tonk (everyone shows their hand) when it is his/her turn. If a player picks up he/she can drop cards (minimum of 3) if he/she has a run of the same suit or a 3 of a kind or hit the run or 3 of a kind of another player before he/she discards. Hitting other players means continuing their run or completing their 4 of a kind. When this occurs, the player being hit cannot tonk for the next 3 turns. The player then discards. No hitting or dropping is allowed after a player discards. Players can have 1,2,3,4, or 5 cards in their hand. If a player tonks on his/her turn, the hand is over and the player with the lowest amount of points wins the tonk (not necessarily the tonker). The order of the points is the following: Ace = 1 point, numbers = their numeric value and Jack, Queen and King = 10 points. There is another way to win, by tonk out. A tonk out is when a player drops all his cards, leaving 0 in his/her hand.
First Round: This round will consist 2 tables of 6. The 2 tables will be determined with each player drawing one of the 12 cards. The 12 cards are the ace, 2, 3,4, 5, 6 of spades and hearts. Players will be seated with others who drew the same suit. The seating order will be determined numerically. 1 sits next to 2, 2 sits next to 3, and so on. The person from each table who drew the ace will go first and be the first to call the tonk- tonk out payoff (t-top). In this round, the t-top can either be 1-3 or 2-5. After that, the winner of each hand calls the t-top. Once 2 players loses his/her bank ($30), the game is over and the remaining 4 players move on to the second round with the amount of money he/she has. The total amount of money at the table should always be equal to 180 dollars. · The t-top a player calls cannot exceed the max amount of any player when he loses. For example, if a player only has 2 dollars left, only t-tops of 1-3 and 2-5 may be called. However, only the player with two dollars can have a legitimate tonk out. If another player tonks out, then the payoff for the tonk out is only worth 2 dollars from everyone. In order for this to happen, either 5 or 6 cards must be dropped. For example, player o
