A New Take
For years, there has been a standard for to which all college-bound students must adhere. Each individual must complete the ACT or SAT in order to begin his or her college career. Debates have surfaced on this already three-hour entrance exam. The controversy is over its fairness, reliability and impact on racial diversity on campus. There is also the issue of what exactly do standardized tests measure and does it correlate with I.Q.? With a new politically correct universe, the substitution of test scores for a more diversely rounded campus might be in the near future. In order to amplify the principle of standardized tests, a new section has been proposed. It will consist of a writing sample on the following phrases: There has always been great passion to bring about change or there has always been great passion to keep things the same.
