Beauty pageants have been the most important television event for many Americans, but now researchers learned that those beauty competitions are bringing many problems to the whole society, so pageants should disappear for the nation's benefit.
Beauty pageants affect girls' self-esteem making them feel down graded and ugly.
Young women and girls often feel very uncomfortable with their bodies because women in beauty pageants look thin, sexy and voluptuous, and that is the body ordinary women would like to have. The pageants' contestants often have a plastic surgery to make their boobs bigger, have a face lift, and many other things, that makes contestants look gorgeous, but the women who are not involved in beauty pageants think that the contestants are natural, therefore average women feel bad about their bodies and often starve themselves in order to get thinner.

Other beauty pageants that should be avoided are those pageants involving children.
