Saying Good bye to Beauty Pageants

Beauty pageants have been the most important television event for many Americans, but now researchers learned that those beauty competitions are bringing many problems to the whole society, so pageants should disappear for the nation's benefit.

Beauty pageants affect girls' self-esteem making them feel down graded and ugly.

Young women and girls often feel very uncomfortable with their bodies because women in beauty pageants look thin, sexy and voluptuous, and that is the body ordinary women would like to have. The pageants' contestants often have a plastic surgery to make their boobs bigger, have a face lift, and many other things, that makes contestants look gorgeous, but the women who are not involved in beauty pageants think that the contestants are natural, therefore average women feel bad about their bodies and often starve themselves in order to get thinner.

In the Unites States there are many girls undernourished because of they want to be as thin

Many people are made viscerally uncomfortable by the sight of prepubescent girls showing off their bodies as a competitive activity, (...) than makes children prone to drug addiction, eating disorders and depression in puberty (Adler and Knee-Osborne). Children that age should be recognized for their abilities and intelligence not for their bodies, which is not developed completely. Children should be rewarded if they are good at their classes, or that kind of fields. "Girls who excel in beauty pageants are learning how to please their people- a useful skill in many arenas in life, but perhaps not the one that you would want to make a central future of your child's personality from the age of 2" (Adler and Knee-Osborne).
