The book "Forces of Deviance: Understanding the Dark Side of Policing," by Victor Kappeler, shows several incidents and examples of police deviance. I've picked three chapters to summarize that I've picked by interest and importance to help show and understand what police deviance is. I picked chapter 1, "The Idea of Police Deviance: Definitions, Perceptions, and Concerns" because I felt it was an important chapter in understanding police deviance, which lays out the foundation for the book.
