Language is the heart of our world. We need it to survive. Language is human creation; we create words to mean particular things. We create our concept of the world by thinking and naming things. Using words helps us communicate effectively in different situations. Without language, we would not be able to communicate at all. Verbal communication is one of life's naturally occurring communication systems. Communication is essential for human beings. Language is the primary way in which adults pass ways of thinking and conversing on to their children. Language is an accumulation of knowledge because we learned everything by somebody through language. Society would have to recreate itself every generation if it could not pass its knowledge on through language.Language is one of the most powerful tools in human communication. Words are meant to establish and maintain friendly contact. Through words, people shape their identities. People can express their feelings, attitudes, and experiences to each other through words. When hurtful words are spoken to some people, they are not easily forgotten. When hurtful words are spoken to a person, they can be humiliated. How the person perceives what has been said to them also affects them. One of the ways a person can move on without getting hurt is to recognize their own possessions, talents, and looks. People have to dismiss negative words and sayings so they don't suffer pain or insecurity. Language can, intentionally or not, cause offense to people. Words that refer to certain subjects, such as racial or social groups, are usually inappropriate. Some circumstances exist where these words are accepted, but most situations involving these words are offensive and upsetting. Using derogatory terms can emphasize the differences between groups of people. Ridicule is a common occurrence because this is a natural behavior among humans. Changing a habit of a lifetime is hard. Using cruel or hateful words is not an efficient way to communicate. Deliberately speaking to someone with harsh and degrading words is not one of the purposes of language. Some people may speak such words to show others that they are superior. Others use words to judge the social status, personality, or looks of others. Throughout life, words have taken on different meanings. Many offensive terms developed negative connotations over time. Other words have lost their meaning entirely.
