Police deviance has been a problem involving law enforcement since the evolution of the system. In the book, “Forces of deviance,” the authors relate stories of crimes committed by law enforcement agencies across the nation, as well as describe the evolution of crime and simple plans of procedure in order to prevent it. The book also informs the reader about the birth process of our legal system that America uses today and the reasons that police officers commit crimes of deviance. The ideas and varieties of deviance, abusing the authority, and prevention techniques are explained in full detail of the book and are expressed in a manor of which many law enforcement agencies use today. The evolvement of our policing system today came from the English system of protection. Many of our values and techniques for protecting our public have had a strong connection from the once called “English bobbies”. The idea of deviance or abusing the system of protection was never intended in any nation but unfortunately happens across the globe.
