ESSAY

This essay will show the ups and downs of the novels Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and

I, Robot by Isaac Asimov. It will be proven that both these novels are linked in similarity

by alienation. This essay will also hopefully give you some insight in to the inner

working of both novels. The common link between novels is alienation.

Both Dorian and the robots share the similarity of being called many names due to their

differences. For Dorian it's his youthful looks. "There goes the devil's bargain" The

lady that states this has grown old in the time that Dorian has remained unchanged

(Wilde 163). The robots are also despised; they are disliked and in most cases hated

because of their superiority and different appearance. The people in the stories know

very little about robots, all that they know
