Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858 in New York City. His father was a prosperous glassware merchant and was one of the wealthy old knickerbocker class families. Theodore was a sickly, underweight child with poor eyesight. He also suffered from severe asthma attacks. To strengthen his body, he lifted dumbbells and exercised.

In 1880, he married his first wife, Alice Lee. His wife and mothere died in the same house,
